Following Croydon Council’s decision on Thursday 30th April to approve the proposed Academy in Croydon (subject to final consultation), Oasis Community Learning are pleased to announce the name of the new Academy will be Oasis Academy Shirley Park.
Oasis Academy Shirley Park, which will replace Ashburton Infant, Junior and Community Schools as a single all-through education provider, is now on course to open in September 2009 and will specialise in English and Performing Arts with Business and Enterprise.
Steve Chalke MBE, CEO and Founder of Oasis Community Learning said,

I am therefore absolutely thrilled that Oasis Community Learning are in a position to give something of high quality back to the community. The current Principal of Oasis Academy Coulsdon, John Murphy was recently appointed as the new Executive Principal of both Shirley Park and Coulsdon. With the success and stability that he has brought to the Academy in Coulsdon, confirmed by a recent OFSTED inspection, staff, students, parents/carers and the local community around the new Oasis Academy Shirley Park can look forward to a bright future.
