It is with regret that we have to inform you that, in spite of Oasis’ best efforts, the Order of the Sisters of Mercy have not accepted the conditions of our offer, previously accepted by the school’s bank.
Therefore, due to the charge the Sisters of Mercy have over the land and buildings, we have been forced to withdraw our offer of taking responsibility for the School. The decisions made by the Sisters of Mercy therefore mean that St. Ursula’s is now insolvent, and, as a result the school was formally placed in administration at midday yesterday (Tuesday 3rd August).
Oasis’ offer remains available should there be a change of heart from the Order, or should help from a new source come forward.
