Oasis is very pleased to be informed that Bristol City Council’s Cabinet will be holding a special meeting at 2pm on Friday 20th August to make a decision to proceed to purchase the land and buildings of St Ursula’s school from the administrators.
Steve Chalke, Oasis Founder said: “If given the opportunity, Oasis would be delighted to run St Ursula’s as a fee paying, co-educational, all-through school for the coming academic year, whilst, as the same time, working in partnership with BCC, and central government, to agree longer term considerations regarding future education provision on the St Ursula’s site from September 2011.”
He said that Oasis will also work closely with the staff team, parents and carers, the wider local community and the students themselves, to ensure any future provision creates the optimum opportunity for an outstanding co-educational, community school as well as consulting with them on its exact shape and size.
He added: “I am confident that, working together, we will be able to bring innovation to St Ursula’s, not only through creating new opportunities, but also by providing a new benchmark in terms of excellence in education.
“We would also like to thank the parents of the school for their constant and very tangible support and encouragement over the last couple of months. Indeed, I believe that the whole community is indebted to them. They have made all the difference.”
Oasis Trust is a Christian foundation which was established in 1985 and has now become a group of charities working to deliver education, training, youth work, health care and housing in 11 countries around the world. Oasis Community Learning is part of the Oasis group of charities and is already responsible for two Academies in Bristol, as well as others around the country, including two ‘all-through’ schools (Primary and Secondary education combined).
Aye mate! And welcome to limbo! Problem: I have no idea what page you're trying to work on. You need to define a body ID in the template, then turn on the necessary rows and columns in layout.css. Arrrrgh!
