On 4th May 2011, over 200 students and staff from Oasis Academies across the country gathered together at the Birmingham ICC for our Annual Awards Ceremony.
The event celebrated all kinds of achievement ranging from outstanding academic attainment to community work. The awards were presented by Founder and CEO of Oasis Community Learning, Steve Chalke MBE.
He said "The Oasis Student Annual Awards provide a wonderful representation of the outstanding work that is going on across our Academies. Our students are making great strides and achieving such heights, not only in their academic studies but in so many other areas of life as well. The individual stories of all those who were nominated were inspirational to everyone who had the privilege of being present.
So my congratulations go to our winners and to every one of our students who was nominated."
Friends and supporters of Oasis came to encourage and celebrate the students' successes, with Lucy Payton from Teaching Leaders commenting how remarkable the students were after hearing the stories behind their achievements.
The Award for Innovation and Enterprise also came with an offer of an Internship at legal firm Browne Jacobson; a great prize for someone with the drive and energy to already succeed.
A fantastic day was had by all who attended with an encouragement to continue in the good work already being done.
