Oasis Academy Hadley have partnered with OAK Garden who exist to provide educational resources to give schools a head start in their transition towards zero carbon and subsequently educate a new, climate literate and green minded generation.

The partnership will see OA Hadley take part in an energy monitoring scheme which will mean their energy usage can be analysed through live data tracking to identity potential wastage. Once analysed, actionable insights can be provided to reduce energy usage and lower CO2 emissions whilst saving money as well.

The data collected is available instantly providing a highly valuable sustainable teaching tool alongside unlimited access teaching materials on the green economy. One OAK Garden Foundation representative said, “schools can’t simply afford to switch to carbon zero at a moments notice or without support.”

Alongside their work with the OAK Garden Foundation, Oasis Academy Hadley’s Primary Phase division are also going to work with Thames 21 to take part in the Enfield wide tree planting project being organised and partly funded by Ian Russel from Enfield Highways.

The initiative hopes to see 100,000 trees planted in the Enfield borough by Thames21 in partnership with Enfield Council. This will in turn help slow the flow of water running into the Salmons Brook, reduce pollution, alleviate flood risk and improve the resilience of Enfield in the face of climate change.

This initiative will provide the Primary students of Oasis Academy Hadley the opportunity to be educated on the importance of trees and their preservation in woodland areas and society; and also allow them to activity be participants of change in tackling environmental issues.
