A primary school in the heart of South Norwood, London has been awarded Tribal’s National Accreditation Quality Mark, recognising exceptional achievements in English and mathematics.
Strong links – Oasis Academy Ryelands, a two form entry co-educational primary school has been awarded Tribal’s Quality Mark after their first initial visit from an experience educational assessor. The brief context of the report says; “The academy has strong links with other school in the Oasis Community Learning family as well as with local primary schools.”
In a report addressed to Principal Glenn Lillo, and Assistant Principal of Teaching and Learning Samantha Francis, they praised the Academy for having a clear school progression strategy through a robust scheme of work and online platform to improve performance in English and mathematics.
Highlights from the report include;
- “Pupils who join the academy part-way through an academic year are carefully addressed to establish their strengths and areas for development in reading, writing and mathematics.”
- “The academy has a well-established and consistently applied marking and feedback policy in which immediate feedback is given to pupils so they can improve their work.”
- “Classroom environments are motivating and supportive, bring rich in language.”
- “The large outdoor learning areas for the nursery and reception classes are very well resourced to ensure young children can develop and apply their language, literacy and mathematics skills.”
The report also praises leaders and staff for continued improvement following their Ofsted inspection which judged the academy to be ‘Good’ in all areas in April 2017. The report adds; “mathematics at the High Standard has improved since 2017 and progress in reading and writing is above average at the end of Key Stage 2.”

Tribal’s Quality Mark recognises improving standards in the provision, practice and performance of English and mathematics; supporting a schools Ofsted preparations; and providing evidence of the high-quality education a school provides. The award is valid for three years.
