Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community

Oasis Community Learning response to Enfield Dispatch article (July 2019 edition) regarding school cuts in Enfield

Like many schools across the country, Oasis academies are facing a tough financial situation.  At Oasis we are looking at creative ways for the academies to work together to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.   Our focus is, and always has been, on what is the right course of action is for the students, and every decision we make must contribute to that end.

A number of claims have been made in the article that are not factually accurate.  Our staff is not being reduced by ten percent, and there are no plans to reduce of the number of subjects we offer or increase class sizes above local averages.  Although there are changes in the way our special education needs and disabilities and safeguarding will be organised we are not reducing the overall provision.

We are providing opportunities to share best practice and knowledge across our academies that will result in better support for our students.  We really appreciate the support of our families and majority of staff while we make these important changes to ensure our students receive the excellent education and the opportunities that they deserve.

Any of our families who have concerns regarding these changes are encouraged to contact the academy directly.
