An anonymous nomination for a local primary school staff member for his dedication and outstanding work to the community was recognised at the Community Star Awards.
Rashad Hassan, Senior Learning Mentor at Oasis Academy Fir Vale was over the moon when he received a letter from the Sheffield City Council inviting her to the Annual Community Star Awards which was held at the Town Hall Reception Room in March.
In the letter it highlights; ‘I am pleased to inform you that due to your outstanding work at Oasis Academy you have been nominated to receive an award.’
Rashad Hassan, Senior Learning Mentor at Oasis Academy Fir Vale, commented on the nomination saying; “I relate to these children as I grew up in an era where we struggled to understand our potential. I want to open the world to them, allowing them to flourish, understand and be the best they can. I feel with motivation, love and care our children will develop to appreciate and care for the world we leave in, we just have to provide them with the opportunities and education to success and succeed.”
Helen Round, Principal of Oasis Academy Fir Vale, added; “It is great that the contribution to community involvement is being recognised as this is something that we are passionate about as a school. Rashad is passionate about building community links and partnerships that have an impact in school and beyond. I am pleased that Rashad’s hard work, commitment and enthusiasm are being celebrated.”
