Pupils and staff at Oasis Academy Limeside in Oldham attended a local best practice conference on mental wellbeing at the White Hart Conference Centre.
Mr Lougheed, SENCO and two pupils from Oasis Academy Limeside took part in attending this conference and demonstrated a range of activities and calming techniques to over 150 teachers, head teachers and council staff.
Following the conference they hope that other schools will begin to use the techniques shown to help children to settle for lessons after breaks and lunchtimes.
Oliver Lougheed, SENCO at Oasis Academy Limeside commented on the conference saying; “The pupils attended this conference in great confidence, showing how well they understand their own learning needs and what great presentation skills they have.”
Councillor Paul Jacques, Cabinet Member for Education was also at the conference and commented on what a wonderful job the children did, and how pleasing it was that children were at the forefront of leading change in schools.
