Pupils join mini police force at Oasis Academy Longmeadow

Pupils at Oasis Academy Longmeadow have become part of Wiltshire Police’s Mini Police team after they were presented with certificates by the Assistant Chief Constable Paul Mills.

A group of pupils from Years 5 and 6 have been taking part in regular sessions with members of the police and teachers in which they have learned how to be a good citizen and how policing works in their area.

On Wednesday, the group were presented with their Mini Police high-vis jackets, caps and certificates by Assistant Chief Constable Paul Mills.

Principal Helen Adams said: “The Mini Police scheme has been great for the school and the children have enjoyed learning about policing and how to be a good citizen in their local area, they seem very proud to be apart of the Mini Police team.”

PCSO Rhianna Annetts said: “We want to teach children more abut working with the police and that we are all people and are here to help.”
