Oasis are pleased to confirm that The Sholing Technology College (TSTC), Southampton, is to become an academy, and join the Oasis family. Current proposals are for the conversion to take place this summer in time for the start of autumn term.
We have been in in-depth discussions with TSTC, the Department for Education, and Southampton City Council for a number of months, and we have now completed a thorough due diligence process. We jointly believe that this is the best decision for the students and staff of TSTC, and for Oasis Community Learning.
Oasis have been serving families in Southampton since September 2008 at our secondary schools Oasis Academy Lord’s Hill and Oasis Academy Mayfield, both judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2016. We are excited about new partnerships between TSTC and our two existing academies and the benefits this will bring our students and staff through the sharing best practice and resources.
Matthew Butler, Oasis Community Learning Regional Director for the South West says: “At Oasis we have a vision to provide exceptional education at the heart of the community, in schools where each child have the opportunities that they need to make great progress.”
“We are delighted that TSTC will be joining the Oasis family. We have the experience and capacity to take the school further on its journey of improvement, delivering swift and sustainable progress. To ensure that we make the best possible start, we look forward to listening to and engaging with parents, staff and students in the coming months.”
