Experienced leader appointed as Head of School at Oasis Academy Limeside

An Oldham primary school is delighted to welcome a new Head of School who has worked in education for many years and in her previous roles has “worked continuously to strive for excellence.”

Lauren Norris officially took up the post of Head of School at Oasis Academy Limeside in the heart of Hollinwood, Oldham last week and is eager to continue to build and drive forward the great work already taken place at the academy, over many years.

Lauren became a teacher thirteen years ago having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Primary Education from Manchester Met University in 2009 and then gained a Masters in Teaching & Learning in 2014. She has previously been a teacher and senior leader, but most recently an Associate Principal at Oasis Academy Clarksfield where she oversaw rapid and sustained improvement at the academy.

Lauren Norris, Head of School at Oasis Academy Limeside commented saying; “I am honoured to have been appointed as Head of School at Oasis Academy Limeside. The purpose of education is to understand what it means to be human-living intentionally and asking two key questions: Who am I? Who am I becoming? At Oasis Academy Limeside I will continue to build upon the values and ethos at the school ensuring that the children, staff, and the wider community, continue to grow together as successful, respectful, and independent learners.”

The former Principal, Kathy Maskell will be staying on at the academy as a Curriculum Leader until the end of the school year and to support the smooth transition of Lauren joining the academy.

Oasis Academy Limeside is an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ nursery and primary school serving children aged two to 11 dedicated to ensuring everyone shines with possibility.
