Final beam in place at new Oasis Academy Daventry Road

The skyline of South Bristol is changing for the better, as the community of Knowle came together last week to mark the official topping out of Oasis Academy Daventry Road.

The milestone event celebrated the placement of the final steel beam on the roof of the academy’s permanent home. The state-of-the-art secondary school will soon welcome young people from across the city, becoming a bright and modern learning environment for the community's next generation.

The new Oasis Academy Daventry Road building will feature a dynamic activity studio, modern sports hall, sports pitches, and landscaped outdoor areas.

Since opening on a temporary site in 2023 with its first cohort of Year 7 students, the academy has already built a strong foundation. This event marks the next chapter in an exciting journey, one of community regeneration, student empowerment, and real investment in the community's future.

The topping out ceremony was attended by representatives from the Department for Education, Arcadis, Oasis, Park Community Centre, and Wates, alongside local councillors Cam Hayward and Toby Wells, all of whom have supported the development since its early planning stages.
