An Immingham secondary school held a very moving and respectful Remembrance Service on Friday.

Oasis Academy Immingham held the service led by Principal, Sara McLoughlin, cadet forces, local MP, councillors and other dignitaries.

The whole academy assembled in the main hall, to listen to prayers, readings and some names of the fallen.

Sara McLoughlin, Principal at Oasis Academy Immingham, said; “Commemorating armistice at Oasis Academy Immingham is an event we hold close to our hearts. We were so pleased share this act of remembrance, with the ongoing support of the Royal British Legion, local dignitaries and members of the local community.”

Along with observing the two minute silence, two students, Callum Marriott and Molly Appleyard gave their readings in memory of the fallen.

Oasis Academy Immingham are proud to be part of the Oasis INSPIRE movement - working together to promote peace - and honour the sacrifice of military personnel past and present.

Richard Albery, Representative from North East Lincolnshire Council, in an email to Principal, Sara McLoughlin, added; “I would like to pass on my gratitude for the invitation to a really moving, but excellent Remembrance Service. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and felt truly welcomed by the school.”
