Oasis academies have once again been recognised amongst the highest-performing schools in the country for staff and pupil engagement, with a number of academies receiving national Top 5%, Top 10% and Most Progress badges through this year's The Engagement Platform (TEP) surveys.

The recognition comes from TEP, a nationally benchmarked survey platform used by schools and trusts across the country to understand the experiences of staff and pupils. Used across every Oasis academy, TEP gives leaders a robust picture of academy life, helping shape improvement priorities and ensuring decisions are informed by the voices of the people who matter most.

This year's results tell two important stories. Firstly, a growing number of Oasis academies continue to perform amongst the very best nationally. Secondly, and just as importantly, a significant number of academies have been recognised for the progress they have made since introducing TEP just three survey cycles ago. Together, the results demonstrate the impact of creating schools where listening is embedded in everyday leadership.

Why TEP matters

At Oasis, listening is central to how we improve.

Every year, thousands of staff and pupils complete the TEP surveys, sharing honest feedback on their experiences across areas including leadership, wellbeing, inclusion, line management, agency, behaviour, effort, enjoyment and belonging. These surveys provides meaningful insight that helps academy and national leaders understand what is working well, identify opportunities for improvement and make evidence-informed decisions that strengthen the experience of both colleagues and young people.

Because every academy is benchmarked anonymously against schools and trusts across the country, the results provide an objective measure of performance while creating opportunities for academies to learn from one another and celebrate success.

National recognition for excellence

This year's surveys saw a number of Oasis academies receive national Top 5% and Top 10% badges, placing them amongst the highest-performing schools using the TEP platform. Recognition was achieved across a wide range of measures, including staff wellbeing, leadership, inclusion, line management and agency, alongside pupil enjoyment, effort, inclusion and recommendation.

Pupil Survey

In the pupil survey, Oasis Academy Aspinal achieved a Top 5% badge for Pupil Inclusion and Pupil Recommendation, while also receiving a Most Progress badge for Pupil Effort. Oasis Academy Boulton received Top 5% badges for Pupil Inclusion and Pupil Enjoyment and a Most Progress badge for Pupil Effort. Oasis Academy Parkwood achieved Top 5% badges for Pupil Inclusion and Pupil Recommendation, alongside a Top 10% badge for Pupil Enjoyment.

Oasis Academy Clarksfield and Oasis Academy New Oak both received Top 10% badges for Pupil Enjoyment, while Oasis Academy Temple Quarter achieved Top 10% badges for Pupil Effort and Pupil Recommendation.

In addition, Oasis Academy Aspinal, Oasis Academy Bank Leaze and Oasis Academy Long Cross all received Most Progress badges for Pupil Effort, recognising the significant improvements they have made since introducing TEP.

Staff Survey

The staff survey also saw outstanding national recognition across Oasis academies.

Oasis Academy Boulton received Top 5% badges for Employee Agency, Employee Leadership, Employee Line Management, Employee Satisfaction and Employee Wellbeing and Workload. Oasis Academy Temple Quarter achieved Top 5% badges for Employee Agency, Employee Inclusion, Employee Leadership, Employee Satisfaction and Employee Wellbeing and Workload. Oasis Academy Watermead received a Top 5% badge for Employee Line Management, while Oasis Academy Woodview achieved a Top 5% badge for Employee Agency.

Further Top 10% badges were awarded to Oasis Academy John Williams for Employee Leadership, Oasis Academy Sholing for Employee Agency, Oasis Academy Temple Quarter for Employee Line Management and Oasis Academy Watermead for Employee Wellbeing and Workload.

Sustained improvement

Whilst the Top 5% and Top 10% badges celebrate excellence against national benchmarks, perhaps the most encouraging recognition comes through the Most Progress badges.

For Oasis academies, this was only the third full TEP census. In just three survey cycles, leaders have embedded a culture of listening, responded to staff and pupil feedback and seen measurable improvements in engagement across their communities.

The Most Progress badge recognises academies that have made the greatest improvements over time by using insight to drive meaningful and sustained change.

In the staff survey, Oasis Academy Benson received Most Progress recognition across Employee Agency, Drive and Development, Employee Inclusion, Employee Leadership, Employee Line Management and Employee Wellbeing and Workload. Oasis Academy Boulton received Most Progress badges for Drive and Development and Employee Wellbeing and Workload, whilst Oasis Academy Daventry Road, Henderson Avenue, Lister Park, Mayfield, MediaCityUK, Parkwood, Sholing and Woodview all received Most Progress recognition across one or more staff engagement measures.

Alongside the staff survey results, Oasis Academy Aspinal, Oasis Academy Bank Leaze and Oasis Academy Long Cross also achieved Most Progress badges in the pupil survey, underlining the impact that listening to pupils can have on engagement and school culture.

A culture built on listening

These results demonstrate that listening is more than a principle at Oasis - it is a key driver of continuous improvement.

By understanding the experiences of staff and young people, leaders are able to make better decisions, strengthen relationships and focus improvement where it will have the greatest impact. The national recognition achieved this year reflects not only the commitment of colleagues across Oasis to creating exceptional places to work and learn, but also the willingness of staff and pupils to share honest feedback that drives meaningful change.

Congratulations to every academy recognised with a TEP badge, and thank you to every member of staff and every pupil who took the time to share their views, helping ensure every academy is a place where children, young people and colleagues can flourish.
