Oasis Academy Foundry is the National Centre of Diversity’s UK school of the Year 2020

The National Centre for Diversity (NCFD) held its prestigious Annual Grand Awards event at the Queens Hotel in Leeds last week, with a fantastic result for one Birmingham primary school situated in Winson Green.

Our pupils’ progress and development is what drives us, so that they can grow into conscientious and positive members of this great community.

Oasis Academy Foundry has been named ‘UK School or Academy of the Year’ for the fourth year running during the celebrations, and it was also revealed to be 6th in the National Centre for Diversity’s Top 100 Index 2020.

The annual awards are held in order to celebrate the country’s best organisations in relation to their work for Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement. The NCFD Grand Awards mark the contributions of those who work tirelessly every day, to ensure that there is equality of opportunity for all within their organisations – whatever your background.

Oasis Academy Foundry is committed to inclusion and opportunities for every pupil, regardless of ability or background. Their vision is to ‘build a strong school that delivers a first education’, but also to ‘build an interconnected community, recognising that educational needs do not exist in isolation from the needs of the whole person.’ Pupils are encouraged to develop ‘respect, tolerance and love for others, regardless of race, gender, religion or difference, within a framework of equality of opportunity and fairness.’

Emma Johnson, Executive Principal of Oasis Academy Foundry, commented on the award, saying; “We are very grateful to the National Centre for Diversity for their School of the Year award for the fourth year running.”
