Oasis Academy Hadley is delighted to share the outcome of its latest Ofsted inspection, in which the academy was awarded a series of ‘strong’ judgements across major areas of provision.

During their November 2025 visit, inspectors recognised strong standards in achievement, attendance and behaviour, early years, inclusion, leadership and governance, personal development and wellbeing, and post‑16 provision.

This highly positive report reflects the hard work and commitment of the entire Hadley community, and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of our pupils and staff.

Inspectors highlighted that pupils across all five key stages make strong progress, confidently building on prior learning and applying their knowledge with increasing depth. They noted that pupils eligible for Free School Meals (over half of the school community) achieve significantly above national averages, with pupils with SEND also making strong progress from their starting points.

The academy was recognised for strong outcomes in national tests, and the sixth form was praised for specialist teaching and consistently above‑average achievement. This enables many students to become the first in their families to attend university.

Ofsted commended Hadley’s proactive work to remove barriers to learning, including offering a free daily breakfast and early opening to support attendance. As a result, attendance for disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND is significantly above national averages, and behaviour across the academy was described as calm, respectful, and underpinned by high expectations.

Early years provision was also celebrated for its ambitious, language‑rich curriculum, rigorous phonics teaching, and well‑established routines that ensure children begin their educational journey strongly.

The report further recognised the academy’s deep commitment to inclusion, highlighting swift assessment of pupils’ needs, carefully designed ‘pupil passports’, and the strategic use of pupil premium funding to ensure all pupils can participate in enrichment opportunities such as photography, 3D printing, performing arts and student leadership.

Inspectors praised leaders and trustees for their clear understanding of the school’s strengths, data‑driven improvement planning, and investment in high‑quality, research‑informed staff training. Staff reported feeling well supported in both workload and wellbeing, benefitting from professional development that helps them excel and grow as highly effective teachers.

They also described a “palpable climate of trust and respect” within the school, noting that pupils feel safe, valued, and supported to become “the best versions of themselves.”

Commenting on the outcome, Principal, Zoe Thompson said:

“We are incredibly proud that Ofsted has recognised Oasis Academy Hadley as a high‑achieving and inclusive school. The report reflects our pupils’ strong progress, our ambitious curriculum, and our community’s shared commitment to ensuring every child thrives from Nursery through to sixth form.

“This outcome is a testament to the dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to remove barriers and create an environment where every pupil can succeed. Our children and young people continue to inspire us with their determination, kindness and love of learning.

“As we look ahead, we remain committed to broadening opportunities, deepening our curriculum and working collaboratively with families and partners across our community.”

Also celebrating, John Barneby, CEO of Oasis Community Learning, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement for Oasis Academy Hadley, and I am deeply proud of the pupils and staff whose hard work is recognised so clearly in this report. Under Ofsted’s new and more rigorous framework, these strong judgements reflect not only high standards but also the strength of character, ambition and care that define the Hadley community.

“Across Oasis, we are committed to providing an outstanding education in every one of our schools, and Hadley exemplifies that commitment. The academy’s inclusive ethos, the quality of its teaching, and the determination of its staff to ensure every child succeeds are evident throughout the report. It is wonderful to see this celebrated, and I want to thank everyone involved for their dedication to helping young people flourish.”

We are all immensely proud of the entire Oasis Academy Hadley community and grateful to our families, staff, governors and Oasis colleagues for their ongoing support.
