Oasis Academy Lister Park is rated as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted!
Staff and students at Oasis Academy Lister Park, in Bradford, are celebrating after achieving a great outcome from Ofsted in their recent visit.
Throughout the report, inspectors highlighted the successful delivery of the curriculum by staff and leaders, the creation of a highly inclusive environment to support pupils and families, and praised the academy for having a clear and shared vision to ensure that pupils receive high-quality education.
The two-day Ofsted inspection took place during the 5th and 6th of March, with inspectors stating that ‘pupils say that they feel safe [at the academy] and that staff care about their wellbeing.’ According to the Ofsted report, this was recognised in the positive way that staff and pupils treat each another, where staff also work collaboratively to ensure that pupils’ needs are met, including pupils with special needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
Ofsted found many areas in which the academy’s leaders, staff and students excelled, giving very positive feedback.
Highlights from the report include:
-
“This is a caring school. Leaders have created a culture where positive relationships are important.”
-
“Teachers have strong subject knowledge. They present information very clearly to pupils and create positive learning environments.”
-
“Pupils benefit from a range of enrichment experiences, which leaders have increased considerably recently. Pupils attend clubs that develop their interests in a range of areas.
-
“There are high expectations for pupils at Oasis Academy Lister Park. Behaviour is good. Teachers manage behaviour well, and the school is calm and orderly.”
-
“’POWER time is helping pupils to read often and to understand the world around them and the importance of tolerance and respect.”
-
“Leaders are supportive of staff with their wellbeing and workload. Staff say that they enjoy working at the school.”
The report mentions that the academy works well with families and the local community. Ofsted also acknowledged that the academy has an on-site Safer Schools Police Officer and a large pastoral team who work closely with parents and local agencies to encourage pupils’ high attendance.
Ms J Millar, Principal at Oasis Academy Lister Park, said; “We are absolutely delighted and very proud that Ofsted, once again, has recognised Oasis Academy Lister Park to be a ‘Good’ school. This is testament to the hard work of our incredible young people and staff team and to the support of our parents and carers.”
Congratulations to everyone at Oasis Academy Lister Park!
