Oasis Academy Lister Park students support anti-vaping campaign

Students from Oasis Academy Lister Park have taken centre stage in a powerful anti-vaping campaign led by Bradford City FC Community Foundation and Bradford Council.

The academy's students featured in the latest Catch Your Breath campaign film, which aims to raise awareness of the health risks associated with vaping and encourage young people to make informed choices.

The project gave students the opportunity to learn more about vaping, contribute to important discussions around health and wellbeing, and help create a campaign designed to resonate with young people across Bradford.

As shared with BBC News Bradford, Amy, one of the Oasis Academy Lister Park students who has featured in the film, said: "I know some people that do vape, but I've never wanted to snitch on them. I'm trying to see what I can do to help because I know how bad it can be."

Principal Jules Millar said she was "brimming with pride" over the students' involvement in the project, which saw them play a central role in delivering an important public health message to their peers.

The campaign film was shown during a special school assembly where students also had the opportunity to discuss vaping and ask questions of local authority representatives.

The academy is proud to have been part of an initiative that empowers young people to use their voices positively and contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of their community.
