Oasis Academy Warndon principal is nominated for Headteacher of the Year

A primary school principal in the heart of Worcestershire has been nominated in this year’s Worcestershire Education Awards.

She has integrity, drive and a team who wholeheartedly follow her vision and wish the best for our children.

Emily Hobson, from Oasis Academy Warndon, has been nominated for headteacher/principal of the year for her “inspirational” leadership.

the anonymous nomination said; “Emily is an inspirational leader. Her focus for our children and drive to give them the very best that they can shines through in everything she does.”

“She came here in 2014 as an Associate Principal and helped to achieve the good rating from Ofsted in 2015.”

“She took over as Principal 3 years ago and the school has flourished. The focus is on high quality education for our children but is also interleaved with character education and a holistic approach that enables our children to display the characteristics they need for life.”

“She has integrity, drive and a team who wholeheartedly follow her vision and wish the best for our children."

Oasis Academy, in Edgeworth Close, received an 'Outstanding' Ofsted inspection in December 2019, with inspectors praising the school's "ambitious leadership" and the fact pupils feel valued.

The nomination continues: "The passion she shows is evident every day, from greeting parents at the gate, driving the minibus so our parents could visit young voices, working across the trust as the national behaviour lead, doing jobs at the academy in the holidays to cut costs and ensuring that excellence and quality teaching is every area of our academy.”

“She deserves this award.”

Nominations are coming in thick and fast for this year's education awards, run jointly between Worcester News and the University of Worcester.
