Body and Soul takes place from Monday, 10 May to Friday, 14 May 2021. Groups of children, families or other groups can have fun learning the eight-minute routine using online videos led by Mr Motivator and friends. On Friday, 14th May at 9.30am, everyone will join together for one, simultaneous country-wide record attempt.

‘The moves are fun and easy, set to a Caribbean-style music mix,’ says Mr Motivator. ‘Anyone from 5 to 85 can join in. You’ll be able to access videos each day from 10 May to learn the routine before joining the national event online on Friday, 14 May.’

‘As we move out of a year of Covid restrictions, we all want to get re-motivated - physically and emotionally,’ says Steve Chalke, Founder of the Oasis charity. ‘Children and young people especially have had a tough time with missed education and isolation from friends. There’s a huge need to support young people struggling to cope with anxiety about their future. It’s been described as an “epidemic of demotivation” with 1 in 6 of those aged 5-16 now struggling with their mental health.’

Some 30,000 young people are expected to take part in Body and Soul in schools, performing arts colleges and community organisations around the country.

Body and Soul is suitable for schools, community groups, families and individuals and is free to enter. Participants are also encouraged to use the opportunity to raise money to help the charities with their programmes to support young people’s mental health. To register for Body and Soul go to www.bodyandsoul.org.uk.
