The anticipation is finally over! Today, 3,000 Year 11 students across the country returned to their schools one last time, eager to discover their GCSE results.

The atmosphere was electric as students arrived at their academies, a mix of nerves and excitement building up as they opened the envelopes holding their future.

Principals, teachers, and staff were on hand to celebrate with them, offering congratulations and support, and guiding each student toward their next big steps. From the North to the South Coast, and everywhere in between - Midlands, South West, London, and the South East - students have achieved outstanding individual successes!

John Barneby, Chief Executive of Oasis Community Learning, said:

“I am so proud of every one of our students. Each time I visit our academies, I am inspired by our student’s ambition, drive and resilience. Despite having the majority of their secondary education during the Covid-19 pandemic and its aftermath, they continued to work hard and do their best."

Today is all about our students and their achievements. Below is just a snapshot of some of the success stories across the Oasis family.

At Oasis Academy Enfield, Rishika achieved seven Grade 9s and two Grade 8s across all of her subjects. Her plan is to study Maths, English Literature, Economics and Further Maths at London Academy of Excellence, Stratford. Rishika told us: “The support from all my teachers has been brilliant! I am so thrilled with what I have achieved, through determination and hard work, I can now go on to achieve higher.”

In terms of national performance benchmarks, Oasis Academy Arena’s 2024 Year 11 cohort achieved a 6-percentage point increase in the number of passes at Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, and an impressive 8-percentage point rise in passes at Grade 5 or above in the same subjects. Several students have celebrated exceptional GCSE results, showcasing their hard work and dedication. Together, Dilara, Jasper, Viktorija, and Godsgift achieved a remarkable nine Grade 9s and eighteen Grade 8s between them.

Arthur was the highest performing student at Oasis Academy Wintringham, achieving Grade 9s in English Literature and History, a Grade 8 in English Language, and Grade 7s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and French, and a Level 2 Distinction in Sports Studies.

Kayleigh, Odianosen, Parul and Alex from Oasis Academy Oldham achieved a staggering twenty-four Grade 9s between them! All of them were immensely grateful for the support of the staff at Oasis Academy Oldham and the academy look forward to hearing their future success stories.

Brooke from Oasis Academy Brighstowe has achieved two Grade 9s, one Grade 8, two Grade 7s and three Grade 6s. She will be studying A Levels at Bristol Grammar School from September.

Oasis Academy Hadley celebrates another year of phenomenal success with results yet again above the national average, majority of the students will be continuing on at OA Hadley sixth form to achieve further success!

Louie from Oasis Academy Lords Hill has secured four Grade 9s, three Grade 8s and a Grade 7 in his subjects. He plans to continue his learning at Barton Peveril Sixth Form College to study A-Levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in Medicine.

A group of four friends from Oasis Academy Shirley Park, Lena, Catinca, Nikola and Zamira, proudly shared their outstanding results, celebrating a total of thirteen Grade 9s between them!

Oasis Academy Coulsdon were proud to share they saw 67% of students secure grades 4-9 in English and Maths, with 48% achieving 5-9 in the subjects. Catrin Green, Principal, commented on the results of 2024: “I am so proud of our students, they have been a very special year group since they joined us, and I always thought we would see great things from them. The result they have achieved today are proof that they are all destined for great things and have very bright futures ahead of them”.

There was immense joy at Oasis Academy South Bank as James, Leah, Amalia, Carmen, and Aditi celebrated a remarkable achievement of 26 Grade 9s between them!

Jack from Oasis Academy Sholing has secured seven Grade 9s and a Grade 7. He will be going to Itchen College to study Maths, Physics and Computer Science with aspirations to be an astrophysicist or work in IT. Speaking of his results Jack said, “I’m so happy right now!”

Some words of wisdom from Kyle at Oasis Academy Brislington for the next cohort of Year 11s: “Dedicate yourself to what you love, and you will always succeed.” Kyle achieved Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, a Grade 9 in English, and a Grade 8 in Maths and will be studying A-Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics & Business at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College and dreams of becoming an engineer.

Top performing student from Oasis Academy Lister Park this year is Muhammed, who achieved an outstanding 99 in Combined Science and a 9 in Maths, a Grade 8 in English Language and Literature, a Grade 7 in Further Maths, a Grade 8 in Urdu and Level 2 Merit in Digital Information Technology. Raheela Aslam, Head of Year 11 at OALP added; “We are extremely proud of each of our leavers, many amazing individual results. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with this cohort and see them make amazing progress.”

Noar and Lambert also celebrated their impressive GCSE results, showcasing their dedication and hard work. Together, they achieved one Grade 9, five Grade 8s, six Grade 7s, and one Grade 6 between them! Mrs. R Akhtar, Head of Year 11 At Oasis Academy Leesbrook added: “I would like to wish them the best of luck for their next steps beyond Leesbrook. I could not be prouder of their achievements; it is testament to their hard work and dedication.”
