Oasis Academy Fir Vale is celebrating a positive Ofsted inspection outcome, with inspectors recognising the academy’s inclusive culture, strong support for pupils and families, and commitment to helping every child succeed.

As reported recently in YorkshireLive*, the academy’s most recent inspection, in June, highlighted that "inclusivity is at the heart" of the academy, praising leaders and staff for building strong relationships with families and ensuring pupils receive the support they need from the moment they join the school.

Inspectors recognised the academy’s work in identifying pupils’ needs quickly and providing tailored support that helps remove barriers to learning. They also praised staff for their expertise in meeting the needs of pupils with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds, alongside effective partnerships with their wider community to provide pupils and families additional support where needed.

Serving one of Sheffield’s most diverse communities, Oasis Academy Fir Vale welcomes pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. Ofsted noted the academy’s strong understanding of its community and its commitment to ensuring every child can thrive.

The report also found that the academy meets expected standards across attendance and behaviour, curriculum and teaching, early years provision, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. Inspectors recognised that outcomes continue to improve year on year, with most pupils making secure progress from their starting points.

The positive inspection outcome comes at a time when Oasis’s primary academies are celebrating their strongest-ever Key Stage 2 results, reflecting the trust's continued focus on high-quality teaching and inclusive practice.

As quoted in YorkshireLive, Helen Round, Principal of Oasis Academy Fir Vale, said:

"We are incredibly proud to have received a strong rating for inclusion and secure standards across all other areas inspected by Ofsted. This outcome reflects the ambition, dedication and care shown every day by our staff, pupils and families.

"It's wonderful to see our high-quality education, strong culture of belonging and commitment to every child recognised in this way.

"We are particularly pleased that Ofsted highlighted our inclusive approach, strong community relationships and dedication to helping all pupils succeed. We remain committed to ensuring every child at Oasis Academy Fir Vale flourishes and is fully prepared for the next stage of their learning and life."

The inspection outcome reflects the academy’s continued improvement journey and its unwavering commitment to creating an environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
