Inspectors have praised the happy and excited learning environment teachers and staff have created at a Gorton primary school during a recent visit.

Ofsted have judged Oasis Academy Aspinal to be ‘Good’ in all areas, including quality of education, behaviour, personal development, leadership, and early years provision.

In the hugely positive report, inspectors praised the work of leaders, staff and governors to develop an ambitious curriculum that meets each pupils’ learning needs.  In the report it is explained that “Leaders have high expectations for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities.  Leaders provide appropriate support for any pupils who need to catch up with their learning, especially those who are at the early stages of learning to speak English.”

The warm and welcoming environment created by a school is highlighted by inspectors, as they explain that: “Pupils feel happy and safe in school. They told inspectors that it is easy to make friends. Pupils know who they would speak to if they had any worries.

And teachers prioritise engendering a love of learning at a very early stage.  In early years, pupils arrive at school keen to get started and explained that teachers make learning fun.

Commenting on the report, Principal of Oasis Academy Aspinal Angela Sweeting says: “As a school community we are committed to creating the best possible teaching and learning environment for every young person – every child will be given the love and support that they need to make great progress and to flourish.”

“I am grateful to our staff, our pupils and our parents who make our school a wonderful place to be, every day.”
