On Sunday 4th June Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey's school dance company 'Elevate' travelled to Sevenoaks to The Stag Theatre, to compete in the Cascade Dance Championships.

The performers have all been working so hard over the past few months on their choreography, performance and technique and it can now proudly be announced that they placed in all categories that they entered:

Advanced Duo Second Place - Tyler Keay & Sienna Shufflebotham

Advanced Trio Second Place - Tyler Keay, Lucy Marsh & Sienna Shufflebotham

Advanced Solo Second Place - Tyler Keay

Advanced Solo First Place - Darcey Kidd

Advanced Group - First Place (Street)

There were also two special recognition awards up for grabs that also went to two dancers from Elevate - Darcey Kidd was awarded the ‘Best Commercial’ dancer for the day, for her outstanding street performance and Tyler Keay was awarded for 'The Most Potential’ with both professional judges commenting on how Tyler has what it takes to make it in the industry.

The performers had great comments from the company who ran the competition about how professional the students where and how they worked so well as a team, showing kindness and compassion.

Ms Sharon Kent, Faculty Leader at Oasis Academy Isle of Sheppey said: "huge congratulations to all of the talented dancers and for the commitment they have shown, it was all worth it."
