World Teachers Day - A message of thanks from OCL's Interim CEO

Oasis Community Learning's Interim CEO, John Barneby, shares a message of thanks to our wonderful teachers on World Teachers Day.

"Today is World Teacher's Day and I would like to take a moment to celebrate the incredible teaching staff at Oasis Community Learning who work tirelessly for the benefit of the 32,700 students who are part of the Oasis Family.

OCL are proud to be part of the National Institute of Teaching, nurturing the talents of teachers and leaders at all stages of their careers. In other parts of our Oasis global family, our 'More Than a Teacher' programme in South Africa is supporting young people on their journey to becoming teachers, part of which is to provide them with an experience in our academies in the UK and we are investigating ways in which OCL can partner in the development of our teachers at Oasis Academy Guwahati in India.

For me, working in Education is a privilege and seeing the difference our amazing teams are making to bring greater equity and life choices to students feels more like a life mission, than a job!"
