A Message From the Principal
A warm welcome to Oasis Academy Limeside – a place where EVERYONE SHINES WITH POSSIBILITY!
Our website provides all the information you will need to learn about academy life, our many great achievements, our excellent standards, our community involvement, amazing curriculum and the many experiences and opportunities we provide for our children.
As an Ofsted outstanding school we were given the opportunity to convert to an academy, this we did in September 2011. Instead of a standalone academy we decided to join Oasis Community Learning as our sponsor. As well as benefitting from the freedoms academy status brings we are also privileged to be part of a global organisation which aims to support the provision of high performing schools and healthy communities in a nurturing and inclusive system.
Our bespoke and personalised curriculum is unique. It drives high levels of pupil engagement and challenge, it meets learning needs at an individual level and prepares children to be active participants, lifelong learners and successful in every aspect of their lives.
We are a National Support School involved in training future teachers and in the professional development and improvement of schools across the country.
The academy has a Nursery and currently has one form of entry. We are a training school for Reading Recovery and house one of the national reading recovery centres with an accredited teacher trainer. Over the years we have been involved in much research about leaning with universities and national and international researchers. Some of our work can be found on this website.
On our website you will find our prospectus, academic results over time, our school improvement plan priorities, attendance figures, full details of all aspects of academy life and community activity as well as information about the wider Oasis group.
Ofsted reported that ‘Limeside is an outstanding school and provides the highest quality of care and education. Happiness and delight sum up the pupils’ pleasure in learning and their care for each other. They are polite, enthusiastic and excellent ambassadors for their school and community.’
We believe that every child should love learning, they should pursue individual interests and talents, be taught an outstanding curriculum by outstanding teachers and achieve outstanding results and achievements. Our extra-curricular programme supports our vision. There is something for everyone. All children learn to play an instrument, we have a high performing choir, many sports teams, outdoor pursuits, art and craft clubs, study groups, gymnastics, dance, yoga, film making, ICT and athletics as well as a chess and engineering club.
At Oasis Academy Limeside we understand the skills children will need in order to be successful in the 21st Century, our curriculum and community focus on business and social enterprise realises this.
Finally, I would like to draw your attention to our vision for Oasis Academy Limeside. This encapsulates who we are, what we have achieved together and our hopes and dreams for the future.
We believe that every child should love learning, they should pursue individual interests and talents, be taught an outstanding curriculum by outstanding teachers and achieve outstanding results and achievements.

Our Community
We offer opportunities for extended learning beyond the core Academy day. Our extended provision through our Hub team is at the centre of our community work. The team deliver a wide range of services which engage public, voluntary and business sectors in the establishment of a centre of education and lifelong learning. We aspire for the Academy to be at the heart of our local community, recognised by others for our clear understanding and support of local issues and awareness of community needs.
At Oasis we recognise that people are not two-dimensional beings; we are each a whole person with a broad range of aspirations and needs and these needs are interconnected. To truly help someone with their educational needs, it is vital to also be aware of their emotional needs, spiritual needs and economic needs.
As such, we believe in communities that are holistic, interconnected and totally inclusive. We call our model for these communities ‘Hub.’ Watch the video above to learn more about our vision for hub.
Oasis Academy Limeside is part of Oasis Hub Oldham. As well as the school, the hub runs a number of integrated community services. By ensuring that all these services are joined up and rooted in same ethos we want to see the entire community transformed for the better.
What is happening at our Hub?
