A Message From the Principal

Welcome to Oasis Academy Pinewood's website. We hope you find this site useful and that it will help you to discover more about our caring and exciting academy, the fantastic learning that takes place and the core values that underpin all we do at Pinewood.

The early experiences that children have impact enormously on the kind of person they will become in the future and on their life choices. A significant proportion of this time is spent at school so it is crucial that we do absolutely everything we can to get things right. What do we mean by 'right'? Well, from an educational point of view, it's about creating a safe and stimulating environment and delivering an exciting curriculum - indoors and outdoors - through which all children can become enthusiastic and highly competent learners. But we want more than just that. We want to ensure that we a place where everyone who is part of our community can experience a whole range of successes and where all learners are enabled to become confident individuals who are independent and creative in their thinking. We want to establish a climate of care and consideration in which we all respect one another and the community we live in. We want to foster an ethos underpinned by strong moral values that will provide children with an exemplary model for living. One that will set them up for a happy and successful life.

As an academy we aim to foster a partnership - one in which the Academy works in full collaboration with our families and community to provide a world-class education for our children. They deserve nothing less.

Every member of staff at Pinewood is committed to creating this ideal learning environment and, as a result, we are rewarded with happy, enthusiastic children who really enjoy coming to school! If you'd like to come and see this for yourselves, please feel free to make an appointment to visit us - you'll be made most welcome.

We look forward to working with you.

Our Region

Welcome to London and the South East (LSE). We are the largest region in Oasis with 14 academies, serving diverse and dynamic communities. Our academies provide education to 9546 students in early years, primary, secondary and sixth form.

We are very proud of our students’ achievements. During 2017-18, for the third consecutive year, academy improvements resulted in stronger outcomes across the region, at every phase. In particular, our youngest children in early years made a very promising start to Key Stage 1. Their achievement was well above the national average. At the same time, a high number of our sixth formers successfully gained places in further education, training or employment.

We are unquestionably stronger when we work together. Our regional development is underpinned by collective drive, ambition and high expectations. As a region our:

  • Students are provided with opportunities to collaborate and succeed, beyond their immediate community. This year all LSE academies are participating in The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival (the world’s largest youth drama festival) and the LSE Regional Music Showcase.
  • Leaders, teachers and support staff are part of the LSE professional learning community. This provides ongoing training and development through our regional improvement networks and support forums.
  • Communities continue to be well supported by our Hubs and the work of Oasis Community Partnerships.
  • Conference is always an annual highlight. This year we are focusing on Learning to Learn. We are delighted to be working Dr Daniel Muijs and Dr Christian Bokhove, both leading experts in this field, who will join us this year to share their knowledge and practical approaches.

In LSE we thrive on feedback, welcome new ideas and visitors to our academies. So do be in touch with Lara.Fisher@Oasisuk.org if you would like to make contact.

Our Community

At Oasis we recognise that people are not two-dimensional beings; we are each a whole person with a broad range of aspirations and needs and these needs are interconnected.  To truly help someone with their educational needs, it is vital to also be aware of their emotional needs, spiritual needs and economic needs.

As such, we believe in communities that are holistic, interconnected and totally inclusive.  We call our model for these communities ‘hub.’

Oasis Academy Pinewood is part of Oasis Hub: Pinewood. As well as the academy, the Hub runs a number of services for the community. By ensuring that all these services are joined up and rooted in same ethos we want to see the entire community transformed for the better.
