A Message From the Principal

A warm welcome to Oasis Academy Shirley Park

We are very proud to have been given the opportunity to lead our Academy, which has a reputation for high standards of achievement and behaviour and has been recognised by Ofsted as Good in all areas. We are confident that as a leadership team we will be able to move our Academy ever onwards. We have very hardworking staff who care deeply about giving every child the chance to succeed. Our Academy motto defines our idea of success at Oasis Academy Shirley Park: Love Learning, Care for Community and Build Bright Futures. We focus closely on our broad, rich curriculum which values both knowledge and skills; whilst also placing a strong emphasis on community, ethos and character formation through the lens of our Oasis Habits. Our aim is that our students leave each year (whether this be our nursery, primary, secondary or our sixth form) with the skills and attributes needed to engage in the next phase of education or employment, and to lead fulfilling lives as happy, active and informed citizens.

Your support as parents and carers is incredibly important to us, and you will often see us outside of the Academy at the start and the end of the school day. Please do feel free to come speak to us, as we both look forward to getting to know you better and are excited to build strong relationships which help support our students. Oasis Shirley Park is more than just an Academy - we consider ourselves a family. It is a family that wants the very best for every one of its children, and we’re excited to welcome you and your children to our family.

Best wishes,

Laura Evry (Primary Phase Principal)

Saqib Chaudhri (Secondary Phase Principal)

Prospectus

Our Region

Welcome to London and the South East (LSE). We are the largest region in Oasis with 14 academies, serving diverse and dynamic communities. Our academies provide education to 9,470 students in early years, primary, secondary and sixth form.

We are very proud of our students’ achievements. During 2022-23, the Oasis curriculum continued to make significant impacts on students learning. Academy improvements resulted in stronger outcomes across the region, at every phase. We are proud of our children at each phase, whether that be those joining reception or those finishing their GCSEs and A-Levels.

We are unquestionably stronger when we work together. Our regional development is underpinned by collective drive, ambition and high expectations for each and every one of our students.

In LSE we thrive on feedback and welcome new ideas and visitors to our academies. So do be in touch with Ella.Marett-Gregory@oasisuk.org if you would like to make contact.

Our Community

Oasis Academy Shirley Park is part of Oasis Hub, Ashburton Park.  As well as the all-through academy, the hub runs a variety of services for the community including a Foyer for homeless young people, a youth club and a community Church.  By ensuring that all these services are joined up and rooted in same ethos we want to see the entire community transformed for the better.

Holiplay Kids Club

Holiplay, is an outside company, that runs the After-School provision for children from Reception - Year 6 on the Stroud Green and Long Lane Campuses. Please ask in the school office or visit the Holiplay website to find more information.

Gardening Club

The Shirley Park Gardening Club is a chance for students, parents and community members to come together to learn how to grow vegetables and fruit.

It takes place on Thursdays from 3.30 - 4.30pm at the secondary phase. We are also hoping to use the garden for lesson times and supporting teachers to see how the garden can be used to support curriculum outcomes.

Please contact Helen Ottley on Helen.Ottley@oasisshirleypark.org if you’re interested in being involved.

Oasis Hub Ashburton Park aims to serve the needs of the local community.

The Hub includes Academies,Church, Youth Club and The Foyer, a supported housing project.

The key focus of the Hub is to consistently get better about doing things together in our aim to provide integrated services locally and support the community in a joined up and holistic way

The Chaplaincy team provide support in the Hub through assemblies, after school and lunch time clubs, support for the breakfast club, foodbank collections, prayer and reflective spaces for students, mentoring, listening and counselling services, to name just a few.
