‘Provision in the early years and key stages 1 and 2 is a particular strength’ (Ofsted, 2016)
Outstanding Sixth Form University success, 94% of students go to university, 46% to Russell group and top third universities
Welcome to London and the South East (LSE). We are the largest region in Oasis with 14 academies, serving diverse and dynamic communities. Our academies provide education to 9546 students in early years, primary, secondary and sixth form.
We are very proud of our students’ achievements. During 2017-18, for the third consecutive year, academy improvements resulted in stronger outcomes across the region, at every phase. In particular, our youngest children in early years made a very promising start to Key Stage 1. Their achievement was well above the national average. At the same time, a high number of our sixth formers successfully gained places in further education, training or employment.
We are unquestionably stronger when we work together. Our regional development is underpinned by collective drive, ambition and high expectations. As a region our:
- Students are provided with opportunities to collaborate and succeed, beyond their immediate community. This year all LSE academies are participating in The Shakespeare Schools’ Festival (the world’s largest youth drama festival) and the LSE Regional Music Showcase.
- Leaders, teachers and support staff are part of the LSE professional learning community. This provides ongoing training and development through our regional improvement networks and support forums.
- Communities continue to be well supported by our Hubs and the work of Oasis Community Partnerships.
- Conference is always an annual highlight. This year we are focusing on Learning to Learn. We are delighted to be working Dr Daniel Muijs and Dr Christian Bokhove, both leading experts in this field, who will join us this year to share their knowledge and practical approaches.
In LSE we thrive on feedback, welcome new ideas and visitors to our academies. So do be in touch with [email protected] if you would like to make contact.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our academy on behalf of the Governors, Students and Staff.
Our students are a delight to work with and relationships between students and staff are extremely positive. Students are focused, keen to learn, are polite and respectful and believe in and embody our belief in "striving for excellence". Ofsted rightly commented on the students outstanding personal development and visitors to the school regularly comment on the academically purposeful and caring atmosphere. Our journey to success has been celebrated, with our excellent pastoral team ensuring exceptional care and support whilst also challenging academic expectations. Our staff also have been recognised as dedicated, talented professionals who are committed to enabling all students to achieve their personal best. Teachers are passionate about their subjects focusing on stimulating and challenging lessons. Students believe that they are educated within not only a safe environment but one also where their personal achievements and talents are recognised. Our school is a happy place where students are able to develop and mature both morally and academically.
We strive to attain our vision where "We believe that Oasis Academy Sholing celebrates success through world class aspiration and recognises the enjoyment in learning so that all are inspired to achieve."

We are part of the South Coast region of academies within the Oasis family. Based in Southampton we are OCL's newest region consisting of 3 secondary academies lead by our Regional Director Phil Humphreys. Phil is an expert educationalist with almost twenty years of experience in education, having led in an OFSTED rated ‘Outstanding’ school in Birmingham where he was the Deputy Headteacher at a time when the school won the TES leadership team of the year.
Within our region we have:
- Oasis Academy Lord's Hill
- Oasis Academy Sholing
- Oasis Academy Mayfield
We will therefore be working with both academies to ensure that we are doing our best to serve our communities respectively and offer every opportunity we can for social integration and inclusiveness.
