A Message From the Principal

At Short Heath we recognise that the relationship that we have with you – the parents and carers of our students – is extremely important to us because it’s only by us working together, as a team, that your children can achieve their social and educational potential, and become good citizens, leading happy and rewarding lives when they leave school. We understand that, as parents and carers, nothing is more important to you than ensuring that your children have the best chance in life so that you can be proud of them. That’s why keeping your children safe and continually stimulated to learn, is our top priority. We all want to be proud of your children.

Your school is part of your community and Oasis Academy Short Heath is, and very much wants to be, part of your community. An outstanding school is one where everybody associated with it works together as an effective team with the aim of helping your children achieve their academic and social potential so that they can have better tomorrows and turn their ambitions and dreams into realities.

Our Academy looks forward to working with you to provide a centre of excellence within the community that achieves just that, an Academy we can all be proud of.

Our Community

We offer opportunities for extended learning beyond the core Academy day. Our extended provision through our Hub team is at the centre of our community work. The team deliver a wide range of services which engage public, voluntary and business sectors in the establishment of a centre of education and lifelong learning. We aspire for the Academy to be at the heart of our local community, recognised by others for our clear understanding and support of local issues and awareness of community needs.

At Oasis we recognise that people are not two-dimensional beings; we are each a whole person with a broad range of aspirations and needs and these needs are interconnected. To truly help someone with their educational needs, it is vital to also be aware of their emotional needs, spiritual needs and economic needs.

As such, we believe in communities that are holistic, interconnected and totally inclusive. We call our model for these communities ‘Hub.’

Oasis Academy Short Heath is part of the Oasis Hub: Short Heath. We currently have a number of services available to our community including stay and play childrens' service and Friends of the PTA association.
