Our Partners

Our journey with Grid Edge started in 2024 and we have seven of our largest academies working with them. Grid Edge provide a technology/AI solution to BMS’ to be able to provide in depth and accurate insights on the specific assets within the building and energy, carbon and cost savings as a result. It also has the capability of shifting academy consumption loads to when the grid is greener to further reduce our carbon footprint (an aspiration for us at the moment!).

As Oasis Academies’ catering partner, Sodexo is committed to supporting the Academy’s values of community, inclusion, responsibility and opportunity through both its food service and wider social impact.

Sodexo has a science-based commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2040, reducing carbon emissions across energy use, water consumption, transport and food systems. Kitchens are designed to operate efficiently using smart energy and water technologies, and initiatives which encourage responsible resource use across school sites. Food waste is minimised through demand‑led cooking and portion control, and all used cooking oil is collected and converted into renewable biofuel.

Sodexo sources food responsibly, with a strong focus on ethical, sustainable and inclusive procurement. The company supports local suppliers, SMEs, social enterprises and under‑represented businesses, while championing higher welfare and Fairtrade ingredients. Through its partnership with the WWF Future 50 Foods programme, Sodexo promotes sustainable, nutritious ingredients within school menus.

Tackling food insecurity and supporting local communities is central to Sodexo’s Social Impact Pledge. Through the Stop Hunger Foundation, Sodexo funds and supports initiatives that improve access to food, literacy, financial education and early‑years nutrition, with employee volunteering embedded throughout. Sodexo also donates refurbished IT equipment to families experiencing digital exclusion and supports community led projects through local funding.

Aligned with Oasis’ commitment to education and aspiration, Sodexo provides apprenticeships, career pathways and work experience opportunities, including employing sixth form students and delivering chef-led workshops on nutrition and sustainability. Together, these initiatives help create a positive, lasting impact for pupils, families and the wider community.

Solar for Schools help maintain most of our academy solar PV systems, but their work with us goes much beyond that! They have installed solar panels at one of our academies through an exclusive National Grid Partnership grant scheme and this year we have rolled out education workshops and assemblies to all academies with solar panels. During which, students will get hand-on learning about renewable energy, their academy as a solar power generator and interactive experience of green careers associated with sustainability. We’ve worked with Solar for Schools’ educators to tailor this to align with the Oasis curriculum, so it has the most positive impact and it’s not an add-on but a core aspect of their education.

In 2025, one of our academies even took part in their Parliamentary showcase event in Westminster where they showcased their amazing sustainability work in front of MPs and other schools, calling for more climate action and even getting a tour of Parliament!

Veolia became the main waste management provider for our academies collecting our general waste, mixed recycling and food waste. Upon collection they weigh the waste, providing us with a stream of data where we can track our progress towards our 75% recycling rate target and our other activities towards a circular economy as set out in our Waste and Resource Use Strategy.

Telex support us with our energy and water supply, including 100% renewable electricity. Their consumption data helps us to monitor patterns and trends within our academies and focus actions for improvement. They have also alerted us to a few underground leaks and supported us to get these fixed which has saved thousands of litres of water, not to mention lots of money, which can be used to reduce our carbon footprint even further.

Energy Sparks is an interactive energy usage platform showing academy half hourly consumption for gas and electricity as well as solar generation. It visualises consumption during the day as well as breaking it down for out of hours and community use to identify any anomalies in energy usage and opportunities for efficiency actions. Energy Sparks also has a wide range of engagement and educational activities which can be completed for points. The more points an academy gets, the higher up the regional leaderboard they go. Last year, Oasis Academy Enfield topped the national leaderboard, which we’re very proud of!

BMSI is our Building Management System (BMS) partner. They work closely with our academy facilities teams to service their BMS’, which control how academy buildings use energy for things like heating and cooling. We’re working closely with BMSI on our net zero carbon goal through activities such as control optimisation, improved air quality and system upgrades.
