Ofsted Highlights

Of our Academies that have been inspected, we are pleased to report that 81% have been judged to be 'Good' or 'Outstanding'.  With 81% of secondaries and all-throughs inspected rated as‘Good’ or better, we are above national average.

Where teaching is strong, disadvantaged pupils make progress in line with that of other pupils and this progress compares favourably with that of other pupils nationally.

Standards are rising rapidly. In 2016, pupils achieved above national averages for attainment and progress at the expected standard in reading, writing and mathematics in key stage 1, a significant improvement on the previous year. Key stage 2 outcomes also showed substantial improvement.

Staff teach and model the nine ‘Oasis habits’ to ensure that they are ingrained in every aspect of school life. This helps pupils to be ‘the very best version of who they can be’.

Leaders and governors have an accurate view of the school’s performance. Leaders who are very new to the school have quickly made successful refinements to the school’s systems and processes. The school is outstanding and improving rapidly.

The inspirational leadership of the principal has been fundamental in establishing a school where pupils thrive, both socially and academically. Pupils’ outcomes have risen significantly each year since the school opened as an academy.

Since joining the Oasis Academy Trust, leaders have driven improvements. The new principal has quickly established positive relationships with staff. This has ensured that high expectations for pupils are a shared vision for the school.

Since the opening of the school, senior leaders have taken rapid action to improve the quality of education provided for pupils. Pupils’ attainment has risen considerably and continues to rise for current pupils in the school.

The principal was born and raised in the local community and is a former pupil of the school. She has personally experienced the power education has to raise aspirations and transform lives and is passionate about extending that opportunity to every child at the school.

All groups of pupils make good progress from their starting points, including pupils who have a special educational need or disability, the most able, and pupils who are disadvantaged. Pupils in Year 6 have made exceptional progress during the last year to make up lost ground.
